Don’t be fooled by those cool, calm and collected squares over on Frankly Irresistibles instagram grid – the reality is that life at F I Headquarters has been less composed and more – well, crazy – recently.
Why? Well, I’m preparing to take this wonderful business to the next level and, like everything that’s worth doing, it’s involved a lot of work. And given that Hope in Health was founded on fundamental principles of openness and honesty, I thought I’d share some of that with you here. Thanks for humouring me 🙂
In the last weeks and months, I’ve been working closely with a public speaking coach to hone my product pitches for the business networking events that I’ve signed up for and the webinar I’m planning before Frankincense Tonic Water goes global. She’s a real dynamo and has been encouraging me to think about and write down my story – how and why I ended up in the wellness industry, establishing my own private wellness retreat and creating my own line of alternative, 100% natural health and beauty products – before even considering putting together a sales pitch.
I know that might sound strange – thinking and talking about myself when really my focus is my product – but she makes a compelling argument. You see, people relate to people. They respond to their personalities, their stories and their passions. Hope in Health will never be about the hard sell; for me, education, healing and health will always be at the forefront of what we do. The clue’s in the name 😉
And so I’ve been thinking about my story – where I’ve come from and what I’ve been through to get to where I am today – and it’s been a surprisingly emotional process. I was forced to ask myself the question ‘Why do I care so much about health and wellbeing?’ and the honest answer is that I’ve been through a lot of experiences – good and bad – that have fostered and sustained my passion for all things wellness-related. Having found joy and balance through a variety of beautiful therapies and tools of nature, I feel strongly about sharing my discoveries with others. I want to tell everyone what I’ve found: that peace in body and mind is entirely possible, and can be achieved with completely natural ingredients, products and treatments. Powerful stuff!
This week I’m delighted to announce that I’ve put the finishing touches to my story. It’s a tale that begins in 1984 with a 16-year-old yours truly and the Covent Garden branch of The Body Shop, through aerobics training and competitions to a life-changing yoga retreat in Kerala, South India. Fast-forward to the birth of my son and the years that followed in a steady NHS job followed by the now-or-never moment where I took the plunge and decided to make HOPE in Health a reality rather than a vision. But I don’t want to give you too many spoilers – why don’t you head over to the Frankly Irresistible Website and have a look?
It’s always humbling sharing something honest about yourself, and I’d love to hear your feedback.
So grateful, as always, for your love and support.
